The Force Project is a year-long course and a deep study of the way we have spectators select cards. Taught by Dani DaOrtiz, you’ll learn a new selection procedure each month and a baffling trick to practice it with. Chapter 12 features a thought of card hopelessly lost in a thoroughly shuffled deck, and then the spectator impossibly chooses their own card from a complete mess of a handful of cards.
The What
A borrowed deck is handed out to many members of the audience to be shuffled. One of the audience members thinks of a number and remembers the card in their packet at that position. The deck is then reassembled. The spectators mix the cards in a chaotic wash. The thought of card is hopelessly lost. Cards are then turned face up and face down, and they continue to be mixed. The magician picks up a handful of cards at random. The spectator thinking of a card takes any card they want. They name the card they are thinking of and when they turn over the card they are holding, it is the exact card they thought of.
The How
As soon as you see the effect performed Dani teaches you exactly how the effect works. You get the basic explanation, so you can start practicing right away. As with most Dani DaOrtiz tricks, several big ideas are woven together to create deep deception and you'll learn all of that here, including a unique use of a force.
