A simple board game gives you power over your spectators' choices and the ability to predict the future. No matter how much they mix up the tiles, you can always predict the beginning and end of a linked chain of board game pieces with perfect accuracy. With a secret hidden in plain sight and a routine developed by the diabolical Dan Harlan, you're about to become privy to The Secret of the Serpent.

Here's what happens:

1. You introduce a board game made up of tiles that are snake pieces with different-colored ends. The goal is to match up the colored ends to see who can make the longest complete snake with a head and a tail.
2. You then take one of the heads and one of the tails and place them face down off to the side as a prediction.
3. Your spectator takes the snakes' bodies and makes the longest body possible by matching their different colors. They have a genuinely free choice as to how they put the tiles together; they can change their minds and the order of the pieces as much as they like.
4. When they finish, you flip over your prediction, revealing which are the only possible matches for the ends of the snake, proving you knew the exact order they would make.
