Penguin: This has been in your repertoire for over 15 years…why has this one stuck with you all this time?
Clint: For me, this routine has been a reputation maker. When performed correctly, it's leaves an audience in stunned disbelief. I really don't think it comes much cleaner than this, and it's worked so well for me that I've never had any need, or want, to take it out of my repertoire.
Penguin: How easy to learn is this effect?
Clint: Very easy. There is a core principle that is involved, and once you know that it's just a matter of practice. I'd urge anyone not to rush out and perform right away, because if you do it too soon, you won't get the reactions I get. You have to be able to work it without thinking, so that you can focus solely on the presentation.
Penguin: There are similar versions of this effect out there, what makes Rhine's Revenge better?
Clint: How clean it is. There is nothing for a spectator to attribute the method to, other than the cards. To see the look of sheer disbelief on a spectator's face after performing this is just wonderful.
Penguin: Do you have to be a mentalist?
Clint: No, although it clearly fits into a mentalism set. I've used it in standard close up sets.
Penguin: Do you have to use Zenner cards? Or, can you use playing cards or business cards?
Clint: Zenner cards fit into my presentation well. You could use playing cards or business cards, with a little preparation, but I personally don't feel it would have the same impact as with ESPs.
Penguin: If you have any other info or insight that you'd like to share, we love to hear it and I'm sure our customers would love it as well.
Clint: Rhine's Revenge is not a routine to be taken lightly. Give it the time and practice it deserves, and you'll have a routine that will blow people's minds and one that you'll use for years!
